The establishment of the Ensemble House in Potočari gives a chance to people from all over the world to learn about human rights and universal civilization values, do a research for scientific and academic projects, analyze social occurrences and promote the values that guarantee good and bright future.

People will have an opportunity to get to know each other, learn from each other, share discoveries and knowledge that are in service of social progress, acquire skills how to live the best versions of themselves and how to become active citizens that will serve the best interest of their community.

The Ensemble House will be open for all people ready to learn and share knowledge and, as an international institution, it will open its door to students, researchers and visitors from all over the world.

Our Mission

Cultural, artistic, humanitarian, peace and scientific discourse will be a part of the Ensemble House programs. The programs and activities will be prepared by experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina – professors, educators, researchers, who keep their eyes on social changes and are capable of defining topics and materials, as well as the methods of educational process bearing in mind world trends. The programs and activities will focus on social justice, transitional justice, universal human values, human rights, media literacy, critical thinking, activism, literature, music, film…

At the Ensemble House, people will learn interactively, acquire the skills that will help them form and present a personal opinion and have a chance to base their scientific and research theses on the example of social changes and social phenomena that were a part of the recent history of the regional countries. The activities of the Ensemble House will be based on the principles of peer education, which will especially be significant when meeting international participants.

High-quality educational, cultural and artistic content will help young people feel they belong to the world of universal human values, regardless of their ethnic, national, religious or any other background. Concerts, film screenings, festivals and international artistic encounters will be organized in order to send a message that human rights are universal, unalienable and equal.

Energy that young people will generate learning and having fun will be recognizable and their participation in the Ensemble houses’s programs will, at the same time, be an opportunity to celebrate life and look forward to new knowledge and discoveries.

The Ensemble House was established by the IFS Emmaus organization and the House of good tones foundation in 2021.

We want you to join us on this unique journey and make Srebrenica a town suitable for its citizens again; to restore people’s faith in cultural, artistic and democratic values and to spread the idea about human rights and freedoms to those places where those rights and freedoms have been betrayed.

We offer several types of programs/visits, which can be adapted/ customized to the needs of groups and individuals.

Unique and life-changing programs of The Ensemble House have been designed in a way to offer participants and students a direct insight into the life of a town – Srebrenica – a place with rich natural wealth and difﬁcult historical inheritance.

We have decided to open our door to guests from all over the world; create educational program for them, help them with their research and enable them to get insight into social currents in this part of Europe.

Finally, due to the very fact that our activities take place in Srebrenica – which is politically, historically and nationally, the most sensitive place in Europe – all activities have positive effect on educational, cultural and democratic values of participants

The visit to the Ensemble House is intended for students, young researchers, professors, artists, writers, cultural workers, musicians, activists, journalists, NGOs… We want to give them the opportunity to get to know our work, to develop their research and projects, to use capacity and resources with which we have at our disposal for the purpose of acquiring and sharing knowledge. Our students will have the opportunity to get to know each other, learn from each other, refer each other to those discoveries and knowledge that are in the service of social progress. We want you to recognize and live the best versions of yourself and we will help you with that.

Location & Facilities

The Ensemble House is located in Potočari. Breathtaking nature’s beauty, gastronomical offer and the proximity of large cities – Sarajevo,Mostar, Tuzla and others – will make the stay in Srebrenica a refreshing brake in the year. At the same time, the stay in Srebrenica is a chance to get to know the region, customs, culture, problems and history of this part of Europe.

Apartments, wooden houses, a modern multimedia center and a restaurant are available to our students and guests.
